Almagate BP is a Hydrated aluminium magnesium Hydroxycarbonate having the formula of Al₂Mg₆(OH)₁₄(CO₃)2,4H₂O. This is a white or almost white fine crystalline powder. It is insoluble in water, ethanol (96 %) and methylene chloride. It is widely used as an antacid raw material in various antacid formulations.
